With current events, its impossible to miss the ignorance, and idiocy the political scene has become. Not to say who I am for or against, as I am not a fan of political banter, however, I can't ignore what Mr. Donald Trump is bringing to the table. As if a ridiculous producer decided it would be hysterical if he ran, foreseeing how there wouldn't be a ton of options. Before their eyes, people bought into is mockery and are actually supporting him, and low and behold he receives an official nomination. Clinton is only winning the polls by 5.4%. Its anyone's game at this point. With the public focusing on the fact that Clinton had some issues with emails, and others focusing on the way Trump uses his blunt and crude personality to put up a facade. We are all buying into it.
When can we put aside and change the methods of media? We need the education, we need our friends and children to put down their phones and expand their knowledge on the things that matter. Finding their voices about the things that matter, and not worrying so much about the best Kylie Jenner lip color. I challenged my nieces, all between the ages of 8-16, to read more, and to look up news that matters to them. However, to them, all that matters right now, is Minecraft, boys, Music.ly and driving. It has been incredibly difficult to find my own voice, and as I continue aging into my thirties, I find it more of a struggle to understand myself. If I had started sooner, or realized years ago how important my education and understanding of the world would be, maybe I would be able to make a difference now. We all get wrapped up in these dreams about how one person can change the world. Just like one vote can change the outcome.
